Our Story
Hello there!
We’re Kirby and Trevor, coming to you from the charming town of Georgina, Ontario —nestled along the southern shores of beautiful Lake Simcoe. Not quite sure where that is? Don’t worry, we get that a lot — and we promise we won’t take it personally!
We’ve been married for nine years, and together for over twelve, building a life rooted in adventure, and curiosity. Early on in our relationship, we discovered a shared passion for exploring new places, embracing change, and challenging ourselves in meaningful ways. And just like that, our journey began.
One of our favorite early adventures took us deep into the heart of Algonquin Park’s backcountry. Armed with our canoe and a thirst for discovery, we navigated pristine lakes, hiked rugged trails, and tackled portages through the untouched wilderness of Northern Ontario.
During our time in the backcountry, we developed a profound appreciation for the natural world and a growing curiosity about our place within it. After years of independently studying survival and navigation, we felt ready to take on more ambitious and complex expeditions. Among the most impactful were our journeys to the Galápagos Archipelago and the Antarctic Peninsula—both extraordinary, fragile ecosystems teeming with life. Witnessing the environmental degradation in these regions was heartbreaking and deeply humbling.
Motivated by the pioneering spirit of deep-sea explorers like Renata Rojas, the late Paul-Henri Nargeolet, among others, we were inspired to take our exploration beneath the surface. In 2023, we acquired our first remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and began learning to operate it across various marine environments.
Our goal is to observe the vital underwater ecosystems that, despite their importance, remain largely unexplored. We're proud to carry out this work using a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) generously donated by renowned deep-sea explorer Renata Rojas. Her support has made this passion project possible, and we’re incredibly grateful.
At our core, we’re driven by a love for exploring diverse underwater environments and a commitment to giving back. We actively collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations, volunteer our time, and help raise funds to support their important efforts. To learn more about the organization we’re currently supporting, check out our “Support Us” page!
Follow our journey and stay connected—we’re excited to share our adventures with you on our blog.
